While many addiction treatment centers offer some form of individualized care, none are completely individualized from start to finish. This is impossible when the bulk of traditional levels of care are comprised of groups. This includes residential treatment (RTC), partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP). Group therapy is invaluable, for sure, but there are times and circumstances when people need to separate out their therapies and save groups for peer support while they focus on their individual needs with one-on-one treatments.

Individualized Care

Since most programs have groups that revolve around pre-set topics that follow a curriculum, track or specialty, concierge treatment can customize not just the individual sessions, but also the educational and experiential components of treatment as well. These are accomplished all in one-on-one sessions with doctors, therapists, counselors, coaches and other specialists.

In order to get to that point, a thorough evaluation must first be accomplished to create the unique treatment plan for each person. Once the appropriate diagnoses are determined, then the treatment team can begin addressing all of the points discovered that will help the individual along their path to long-term recovery, however that may look.

This type of concierge-style treatment is often used for executives and high-profile individuals, largely because of the privacy factor as well as the costs what may be associated with such a customized treatment approach. Hopefully there will more options in the near future that make this form of care more accessible to anyone who wishes to enroll.
